Nina Pryor, Golf Teaching Professional

Windy Hill Sports Nina Pryor LPGA Apprentice & Director of Adult Education

Nina is a teaching professional who knows first hand that golf doesn’t have to be complex or difficult. She has taught hundreds of women to play the best golf of their lives and have fun doing it! Respected by her peers and students, Nina’s professionalism, passion and integrity have inspired players of all ages and skill levels.

Nina’s reputation for creatively combining lessons with fun is well known. Her classes might warm up with Aretha Franklin or don blindfolds to learn the “feel” of the club. She once presented the “Whine & Cheese” golf clinic served by tuxedoed caddies at Salisbury Country Club. The membership is still talking about that one!

Originally from Midlothian, Virginia, Nina began playing golf as a member of Stonehenge Country Club. An avid competitor in Richmond Women’s Golf Association, Nina was consistently among the top players every year in the City Amateur.

Her love of the game was the catalyst for become a teaching professional. Nina’s resume highlights working for several area golf and country clubs including Royal Virginia and Salisbury. Notably, while at Salisbury, Nina created the first pee-wee golf program for 3 to 6 year olds and developed a Girls’ Junior Golf Club. Nina fanned her girls’ golf fever by taking them on trips, most memorably to the LPGA McDonalds major at the DuPont Country Club in Delaware. While the girls enjoyed the major, Nina joined other LPGA teaching pros to give a clinic to hundreds of girls who attended.

Nina also found time to teach independently at Bogey’s Golf in Goochland to make golf lessons accessible to women who were not club members.

Nina served as an ad hoc staff member for the University of Richmond’s outreach to corporate business woman teaching a wide range of educational programs for all skill levels. Spinning off from that association, she was instrumental in the founding of Golf Fore Women, a non-profit local association of women professionals.

Currently teaching both private and group lessons at Windy Hill, Nina’s responsibilities have included serving as director of Windy Hill’s famous junior golf program. She was the 2009 co-head coach for St. Catherine’s girls’ golf team. She is also an advisor and board member for the Executive Women’s Golf Association.

Nina teaches golf in Chesterfield County’s After School Program during the winter.

In 2010, Nina will present Windy Hill’s Adult Golf Education program. Sign up early to learn the secrets of how to jump-start your game for a new year!
